When Jo came to see me for her wedding dress, she had recently had a baby and wanted a custom-made gown that would help her feel confident on her wedding day. She was based outside Auckland, working, and caring for a small baby, so getting to fittings took careful organisation. We planned the finishing close to her wedding date, keeping the final fitting close enough to allow for the natural changes that can happen after pregnancy. I often find that brides who have recently had a baby need a little extra care in the fitting room. The body can still be changing, and it takes time to feel fully at ease again.
There were fittings where Jo arrived on very little sleep, but she kept going. The finished gown fitted beautifully, and it was lovely to see how happy she was with her wedding dress.
